Quervino thumb column immobilization orthosis.
De Quervain syndrome is a tenosynovitis of the extensor pollicis brevis and abductor pollicis longus. The injury is based on repetitive micro-injuries and inflammations in the thumb, which are caused by a strong grip and adduction. This is why the syndrome is common in golfers and tennis players.
The Quervino thumb orthosis is made of the innovative AirSanmed material. The lack of elasticity of this material allows maximum stabilization and immobilization of the CMC joint. There is a soft cotton textile, in contact with the skin, which prevents sweating.
The outer layer is comfortable and semi-rigid and the perforated foam, covered with a medical perforated laminate, allows the skin to breathe and sweat to evaporate.
The front opening allows for easy application and a closure system with strap regulation has been implemented, in order to perfectly adapt the orthosis to each hand. The wrist orthosis is equipped with a VELCRO strap stabilizing the thumb. The individual adjustment of this strap and its length is done by cutting it. It can thus be perfectly adjusted.
In addition, the thumb orthosis is equipped with two independent circumferential bands. The patient can freely adjust the product, which can prevent the orthosis from slipping.
In addition, the orthosis is equipped with a lateral aluminum splint, for thumb abduction. The angle of abduction is defined by the splint.
